The human experience is characterized by numerous shared commonalities. Throughout our lives, we encounter a range of emotions, including joy, hurt, anticipation, grief, contentment, sadness and more. We recognize the challenges of sleepless nights and overwhelming days, which inspire our ongoing commitment to counseling services for our community. Our aim is to promote awareness about the importance of mental and emotional healthcare, motivating individuals to seek help.
We are dedicated to providing a secure, confidential space for individuals to explore their concerns, backed by our staff's consistent professionalism, empathy, challenging approach, and support, addressing each client's distinct requirements.
Timeline
2015-2017
Vision
By 2016 I had given a decade to helping individuals and families in Stillwater and five surrounding counties. Seven of those years were spent as the Executive Director of Wings of Hope/Stillwater Domestic Violence, where I served the community through domestic crises. While this role was rewarding, building Wings of Hope into a thriving non-profit demanded a significant amount of my time. Having developed into a strong leader with the skills to manage a team, influence a community, and raise funds for various causes, I knew it was time to make a change in my career. This was an opportunity for me to return to my passion, providing direct client care and opening my practice.
2011-2014
Inception
I envisioned a business that would support my community and also foster my personal growth. It felt unusual to consider doing something for myself after twenty years in non-profits dedicated to serving others. However, after praying and consulting with my husband, I finally set my goal to start a counseling private practice. Under the mentorship of Anthony Cambas at the Small Business Development Center at Oklahoma State University and with the aid of my cousin, who is an accountant, my business began to take shape.
My mission was to serve others, while my vision was focused on impacting the community through mental health care. Although many in the community recognized me as a public figure, would they trust my skills as a therapist? Despite my uncertainties, I found clarity, direction, and support and my business became official. After securing our location and a soft launch, I finally went to work part-time for MRobinson Counseling LLC on April 15th, 2019. I started full-time on January 2nd, 2020.
2007-2010
Success
By the summer of 2020, the momentum was nothing short of amazing! My practice was flourishing, which prompted me to hire an office assistant and clinical intern to help manage our growing clientele. We fostered a supportive environment where clients felt valued and heard. By 2021, we hired another therapist, and office manager. In 2022, we celebrated our three-year anniversary with a vibrant community open house where we shared our journey and introduced new services, including mindfulness workshops and group sessions.
In 2023, we proudly expanded to a second location, in Edmond, Oklahoma, allowing us to reach even more individuals in need. As of 2024, we are operating in full swing with a dedicated team of certified professionals, all committed to fostering well-being and making a lasting impact in our community.
Together, we’re offering services, inspiring transformation and building a healthier future for everyone!
